I am improving!!! (Is it me really?)

Had a decent run today. Decided today not to go to the trails nor the univesity campus, instead decided to roam around in the city (Felt like an Urban Jogger :D ). Today i did a 5 kms run & did it without a pain in 35:26 time. I was surprised know that i have cut down the time by 5mins. I guess the improvement is all of a sudden thing. I think that recovery schedule is really working for me. I had a mix of surfaces to run on viz asphalt, some soil, concrete etc. Knees were bit sore in the morning but now it is really fine. OHR is really working great for me.

I am back in action: 6kms landmark nailed down

Started off pretty early @ 6:10 am. Pretty dark it was. I had decided to nail down the Central Bus Stand in Kolhapur on my own legs!!! That was a pretty big mental barrier. So did a 16min brisk walk from my home to NCC Bhavan. Then started off jogging & reached the landmark in a whopping 18:24 time. did not checked the watch in between cause i was unsure that how long it will be to reach there. So astonished that i had stamina (more than half of it) left, I decided to run back home. The way back to home was pretty inclined sort of uphill running but running on these urban hills!!! Just kept on listening to songs & applied the little theory about stepping i had learnt on Runners World about uphill running & Voila! i had completed 6kms distance with 2.5 kms of straight uphill running in 43:24 time. I was a great achievement. I was feeling like a winner.

Also i completed the Day 2 of 200 Sit ups yesterday successfully but have kept the Day 2 of 100 Push ups on hold till tomorrow. I will give it a try tomorrow. Lets see...

Exceution of the 100 pushups & 200 situps program

Once again today i went out to University of Pune for workout. Did about 2.2 kms of conditioning running & 8.5 kms. of walking as a part of the OHR programme. Next came back and took up the Pushups program. I did a whooping 32 pushups & went further to do the situps. In much trials & tribulations style i completed 45 situps. Yet today i felt like i was charged enough to go further so pulled out 125 rope jumps to finish it off. Boy my hand & triceps well shivering like hell after the workout. But nevertheless it was an awesome feeling.

A new week has begun

So today i got started after a two days gap...(A very long one..!!). Got myself out of the home and towards University of Pune Campus. Just walked up to the main gate & then entered the jogging track. Today was a sluggish day as regards to performance. I did just 3.5 kms & was burnt out. I guess the reason for it was the two days off & also i had forgotten my bottle today so was feeling pretty dehydrated today. After the sluggish running show i headed towards the main building & returned home to complete a total of 8.8kms.
I am starting with the 100 pushups & 200 situps programme from tomorrow! So keeping my fingers crossed to see myself go through this. :)

Indulging with road runs

So started off with my road fantasies today. I had to go to meet someone, so i decided to hit the road instead of going to my regular workout regime. I had a stretch of 3.7 kms in front of me. The road had a gradual inclination. Of the total distance about 2 kms was made of asphalt & 1.7 kms of concrete. It was a tough experience to run on concrete roads. There were also some paving blocks crossings in between made up of concrete. Those sections were much tougher to move on to. As the run was early in morning I experienced that streets of Pune wear a cool, calm & friendly mask in mornings as compared to the rest of the day. I had some trouble with street dogs so had to cut in my run about 3 times. Well it was a great run.

Todays workout on the trails.

So today was my regular workout. Started my workout at 6:18 am. Covered up 4.46 kms walking & 4.5 kms running on the trails. I am uploading the pics of the trail which i love so much. Right now as it is winter here trees have shed the leaves. But after the rains(probably in July), trails just become like a second heaven.

Ash-set-go will be my vision into the fitness quest...

Today on 10th Feb 2009 i have started this blog to write and experience my journey towards the fitness quest. I have been going through this journey since November 2009 but decided to write about it as i had considerably achieved some self-confidence that, "I am not going to quit it this time as i did it usually."
